Day 30

Much thankfulness is for opportunity. Opportunity to learn, grow, love, live, give. You get the idea. We are surrounded by choice after choice all the time. Sometimes we pass them up and ache with regret and sometimes, we rob others with our own selfishness. Many times, we can’t see how great an opportunity is because it’s not exactly how we envisioned it. At an extreme opposite are those who try to seize every opportunity only to never feel satisfied but completely drained. I pray God that you can guide me on the opportunities that are in conjunction with your plan! When they are according to your will, I should feel replenished and fulfilled.

Day 29

Today I am thankful for sunshine. It brightens any day and brings cheer to all. The rising sun gives promise to another day on earth that I can spend with those I love. So why not make the most out of it? Dear Lord, please help me to cherish every day and each moment you give me.

Day 28

I offer my thanksgiving to surprises. It is such a delight to hear the word snow so early in winter or I guess you could say late in fall. What a surprise to hear sleet pelting on the windows and see it accumulate on the ground. We just might see a white Christmas after all. I love snow and the pure and pristine blanket it lays over everything. I look forward to the stillness it will spread all around me. There are many reasons to stop and be still. Most importantly. To be able to hear God speak to us. Heavenly Father, please keep each day a mystery of delight so we are constantly on our toes!

Day 27

My thankfulness today is for church and the freedom we have to worship God. We live in a country in which we can openly attend church and are so blessed. We have absolutely no idea how lucky we are compared to many areas that still risk their lives to say that they believe in Jesus. We don’t have to worry about getting assaulted or murdered for our beliefs. Because we can openly worship and praise God, it is embarrassing that I don’t attend church more regularly. Dear Lord, please keep me close to you and in the habit of going to church more often to hear Your word.

Day 26

Today I am thankful for the friends we have. There is never a moment in which I question how great they are. Hanging out is a fantastic way to relax and enjoy each others’ company. Time can lapse between conversations and visits but you’d never know it. Dear Lord, watch over my friends and provide us with opportunities to celebrate good times together.

Day 25

I am so very thankful that I still have my grandparents in my presence. Not many people can say that today in a world filled with illness and disease. I am also thankful that we have such a close relationship. I enjoy hearing them reminisce. To say they spoil me is an absolute understatement. They have been doing that for the 32 years of my life! Now, I can see how manically Samuel is in their life. It’s the greatest feeling in the world!

Day 24

I am so thankful for good times shared with those I love. Today, as it is thanksgiving, is the day of my most favorite meal! I look forward to it again the next year the very minute it is over. It is always a day filled with memories in the making. I am especially fond of the fact that your closest and most dear relatives come together with love and laughter. How thankful I am that we are all under one roof to share this special day. Lord, please continue to look after my loved ones over the next year until we can come together for this feast of happiness once more.

Day 23

Today I give thanks for traditions, big and small. My sister and I have started an annual tradition of baking cut out sugar cookies and decorating them with frosting the day before Thanksgiving. Although it is a lot of work before hosting the big turkey day, I completely enjoy it. It also kicks off the many traditions to come at this time of year. I can’t wait to enjoy them and now share them with Samuel. I look forward to the new traditions that he will bring to us. Thank you Lord for good ole fashioned traditions that can be passed down to generations to come.

Day 22

I am full of thanks for 4 months. Every minute of my son’s life is completely cherished! I am forever grateful for Samuel and the opportunity I have to raise him. There is nothing that can replace these feelings and memories we are making. Dear Heavenly Father, I hope you continue to bless the moments Samuel and I will have together.

Day 21

Today I am thankful for my dad. Not only do I get the pleasure of working with him too but he is always there when I need something. I am forever grateful for him! When I was little, I was lucky to have spent lots of time together, making millions of memories along the way. I’m not sure what I would do without him. Now, watching him with Samuel is such a wonder.
