Day 25

I am so very thankful that I still have my grandparents in my presence. Not many people can say that today in a world filled with illness and disease. I am also thankful that we have such a close relationship. I enjoy hearing them reminisce. To say they spoil me is an absolute understatement. They have been doing that for the 32 years of my life! Now, I can see how manically Samuel is in their life. It’s the greatest feeling in the world!

Day 24

I am so thankful for good times shared with those I love. Today, as it is thanksgiving, is the day of my most favorite meal! I look forward to it again the next year the very minute it is over. It is always a day filled with memories in the making. I am especially fond of the fact that your closest and most dear relatives come together with love and laughter. How thankful I am that we are all under one roof to share this special day. Lord, please continue to look after my loved ones over the next year until we can come together for this feast of happiness once more.

Day 23

Today I give thanks for traditions, big and small. My sister and I have started an annual tradition of baking cut out sugar cookies and decorating them with frosting the day before Thanksgiving. Although it is a lot of work before hosting the big turkey day, I completely enjoy it. It also kicks off the many traditions to come at this time of year. I can’t wait to enjoy them and now share them with Samuel. I look forward to the new traditions that he will bring to us. Thank you Lord for good ole fashioned traditions that can be passed down to generations to come.

Day 22

I am full of thanks for 4 months. Every minute of my son’s life is completely cherished! I am forever grateful for Samuel and the opportunity I have to raise him. There is nothing that can replace these feelings and memories we are making. Dear Heavenly Father, I hope you continue to bless the moments Samuel and I will have together.

Day 21

Today I am thankful for my dad. Not only do I get the pleasure of working with him too but he is always there when I need something. I am forever grateful for him! When I was little, I was lucky to have spent lots of time together, making millions of memories along the way. I’m not sure what I would do without him. Now, watching him with Samuel is such a wonder.

Day 20

Rainy days. I think that says enough–especially when they fall on a weekend! Nothing like rest and a little relaxation! Thank you Lord for giving me one of these days. It truly is a blessing!

Day 19

At the top of my list of thankfulness is answered prayers! I realize that God always answers each and every one of our prayers but that it isn’t the answer we look for sometimes. Hard times are supposed to being us closer to him but sometimes that means that we question whether or not He is there for us. “Why isn’t he helping me” we often think. I’m guilty of such thoughts too! Last year at this time, my prayers were to become pregnant. This year, it’s been for my baby boy to sleep better at night. Of course, those aren’t the only prayers on my list! But once again, God answered my pleading. Samuel slept nine hours! Did I mention, straight. It’s amazing how good sleep is, but maybe God was helping me appreciate it more by taking it away for a while. God has a plan that’s for sure. Sometimes we know what it is and other times, we either need to be still and listen or accept what he is trying to do. Thank you God for always answering my prayers. Help me to accept the answer you give, even when I might not like it.

Day 18

I am thankful that I’ve got such a wonderful mother. She gives herself to me and my sisters selflessly day after day. What a mom! Hopefully one day I can be at least half as good as she is as a mom. Lord, please bless my mother and help me to show her how much I love her and how grateful I am for her!

Day 17

Many thoughts of thankfulness goes to how fortunate I am. I have got to be the luckiest girl in the whole wide world. I work with my mom every single day and most recently my dad started working with us. Its amazing! I can’t begin to add up all the hours we are able to spend together. Even though we don’t get to sit around and visit, just being in their presence is special enough. Dear God, thank you for the time you give us together, even if we aren’t always doing something extra special.

Day 16

My thankfulness today is for all the technology we have access to. Such a never ending gift bestowed upon us to think of all the ways we can communicate with others. Help me Lord to use the technology you give me access to to build others up and glorify you. Guide me as well so that it doesn’t consume my time inappropriately.
